Over the years, Lykens Companies has created a reputation surrounding our kitchens. A home is only as great as its kitchen, after all. Each time we renovate a unit, we make sure to put our resources—our time, our attention, and our money—into crafting stylish and inspired kitchens.
From the home chef to the crockpot cook and all the way to the heroic host, it seems like everyone loves the kitchens that Lykens makes. Why? We think it has something to do with us using top-notch materials from the kitchen’s floor to its ceiling.
When it comes to kitchens, we don’t joke around.
The fact is, we have over a thousand units and we’re growing everyday. It gets hard to keep track of our favorite units and the kitchens inside them, so we figured that we’d collect a few photos to salivate over (as a kind of historical record, right?).
Think the kitchen in your Lykens unit is better than these? Let us know and we might come and take professional photos of your awesome kitchen to show off!
1. E. Broad St.
We know, it’s not fair. The townhomes on East Broad were just redone, but they’re already some of our favorites. In this unit, we’ve allowed the home’s history dictate the space. Original elements announce themselves.
Blacked out wood paneling and custom trim highlight the kitchen’s original tiling. Its black and white hexagonal pattern pops like nothing else and makes cooking in this kitchen feel like stepping into a time machine.
2. 19 W. 1st Avenue
From blackout to whiteout, 19 W. 1st Avenue is the salt to East Broad Street’s pepper. These glossy white cabinets sit bright against white subway tile backsplash. Premium granite countertops complement the natural tones of the kitchen’s wood flooring while the unit’s stainless steel appliances, including a gas range, make this kitchen a cook’s dream.
3. 962 N. High St.
Just because you’re in Columbus doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy some island life.
A top-grade granite countertop finishes off this kitchen’s island. A farm-styled stainless steel sink sits across from brand-new appliances. Illuminated by industrial light fixtures, this kitchen’s spacious layout makes this space downright beautiful and perfect for hosting. Take a seat at the bar and enjoy the view.
4. 1250 Neil Avenue
1250 Neil Avenue is a testament to making the most of a space. This galley kitchen is anything but cramped. Dozens of cabinets fill the room. First, they offer a lot of storage space. Second, this handcrafted cabinetry makes the kitchen a standout, while its muted tones allow the tenant to add his or her own decor without fear of clashing designs.
5. Wonder Bread #211
This kitchen is the perfect example of the Lykens standard. The highest quality granite countertops meet mocha stained custom-cut cabinetry. High grade stainless steel appliances shimmer in the natural light of the kitchen’s window. An exposed brick wall climbs up to the factory’s original wooden ceiling. From the kitchen’s island, you’ll make out a skyline view of Columbus. It’s like nothing else.
Which will you choose?
Our kitchens look like they’re straight from the pages of Home & Garden, but the craziest part is that they’re all right here in the middle of Columbus.
