Check out all of our biggest Italian Village projects.
Italian Village is one of the most exciting neighbors in the entire Midwest. We aren’t just saying that, the New York Times is, too. And Lykens Companies was even talked about on national news for our efforts in helping develop the Short North, Italian Village, and Victorian Village into what it is today.
But we realized that it’s been a while since we even got to catalogue all that our company has done for Italian Village. After all, a lot happened in 2018. On top of that, 2019 has even more projects on the way.
We wanted to take an opportunity to go over each Italian Village project that Lykens Companies has developed. If you’re curious, keep reading. You might be surprised at just how many there are.

Wonder Bread Lofts
Of course we have to mention Wonder Bread Lofts. Most developers would have knocked down an abandoned bread factory and put up an apartment high-rise.
Lykens Companies saw an opportunity to salvage an important piece of Italian Village history. We haven’t just kept the exterior historic, each bit the Wonder Bread Loft interior tells the story of this building. From original brick walls to the glowing red Wonder Bread sign, this building is a living history.
Each of its 66 lofts are completely unique and have been renovated with timeless luxury materials, like our high-grade granite countertops. Check out some of the best Wonder Bread Lofts that are available today.
The Historic Columbus Candy Factory
We think of this space as sort of a sibling to our Wonder Bread Lofts, but that doesn’t mean that its inferior. Brand new for 2019, these 20 unique lofts have been gorgeously crafted from just the shell of a warehouse.
As we did with Wonder Bread Lofts, we’ve renovated with the building’s history in mind. This space wasn’t pretty when we first purchased it, but patience and vision kept us striving to transform it.
Residents will love how the space’s original wooden beams are seamlessly integrated to each loft’s design. Brick accent walls contrast with stunning new windows. Of course, a luxurious kitchen blends perfectly with our open concept living spaces.
If you love a good home, then you need to look at these units. You won’t be disappointed.
The Detroit Avenue Townhomes
When we set out to construct these completely new townhomes, we wanted to add beauty and value to the neighborhood around it. Our end result was better than we’d hoped. Four townhomes introduced a thoughtfully modern design to a once-industrial area. We were thrilled about it.
These townhomes offer tons of square footage in one of Columbus’s most popular and bustling neighborhoods. We finished each unit with custom (and massive) windows that welcome in natural light. The kitchens in these townhomes might be the best we’ve ever done. Custom lightning fixtures stand out against white granite counters and backsplashes.
And just as a cherry on top, we gave everyone a garage, too.
Learn more about our process with these townhomes and walk through them for yourself.
Fourth Crossing will be here soon and we couldn’t be more excited for it. Like our townhomes, Fourth Crossing is a brand-new building. But just like with our townhomes, Lykens Companies opted for thoughtful construction instead adding just another cookie-cutter apartment complex.
The 36 suites inside Fourth Crossing are the definition of luxury. Each can have its own lower-level parking space. Kitchens are spectacular. The views are like none we’ve ever seen. There are porches. There are patios. And situated next to the forthcoming Budd Dairy Food Hall and Seventh Son Brewing, the nightlife isn’t bad either.
When these apartments are finally available, Italian Village will never be the same. Check out the latest on our incredible project.
The Short North Warehouse Space
Lykens Companies saw a need in Italian Village. There wasn’t a renovated warehouse space in the area. With The Short North Warehouse Space, we hope to offer our city and our neighbor the chance to work inside a completely remodeled and top-quality warehouse.
Are you or someone you know in the market for an affordable (and awesome) industrial space? See if our warehouse meets your needs.
We saved the best for last.
We’re so excited to have Budd Dairy be finished. Slated to open in Autumn 2019, this former warehouse is going to house some of the most exciting offerings that Columbus has ever seen.
Lykens Companies has partnered with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants to open Budd Dairy Food Hall. This massive operation is going to house anywhere from 8 to 10 restaurants that the Cameron Mitchell team believes are the next big thing. With multiple bars, event spaces, and even a rooftop patio, we know that this project will complete Italian Village’s recent cultural resurgence.
But that’s not all. Budd Dairy is going to house the best office space that Columbus has ever offered. Historic, unique, and elegant, these offices will blow you away. There will even be a coworking space.
Keep up to date with us as we announce more updates the closer we get.
More on the way…
Believe it or not, we’re not done yet. Lykens Companies still believes that there’s more to do in Italian Village and beyond. Keep your eyes on our blog and be the first to learn about the next big thing that’s coming to your city.
Now, a bit about Lykens Companies…

For our renters, that means that they are connected to a proven business that is always striving to be the best. Our success isn’t an accident.
